Church Building Project Action Team Report

Since our last communication in December with church families through a bulletin insert and a mailing to all the church households, the team has been busy compiling the input and forming a support group. The results of your input developed the following list of "Recommended Actions", in their order of importance:

1. Replace all sanctuary roofs (all shingled & flat areas)
2. Upgrade the Youth Center
3. Remodel & upgrade the kitchen
4. Update the fellowship hall to include replacement of various door, windows and modernization of adjoining bathrooms. Re-evaluate usage of existing Sunday School space and possible addition to fellowship hall.
5. Add to the two (2) parking lots adjoining the Learning Center. Repair all other lot surfaces as necessary.
6. Upgrade the playground with new equipment and ground cover. Update the bathrooms and various plumbing in the educational building.

A support group of knowledgeable women of the church has volunteered to tackle the Kitchen Remodel/upgrade. We are also working with the B & G chairman to ensure we address any current problems. As a joint initiative to fund the upcoming final version of the above, Church Council directed the Nominating Committee to form the Building Finance Committee to look into and recommend a method of funding all of the above. Church Council approved the plan in December and with your participation we will move forward and keep you informed in the months ahead.
