The Walnut Hills Baptist Church Learning Center is a non-profit ministry of Walnut Hills Baptist Church in Williamsburg and was founded in 1991 by a women’s Bible Study group. The Learning Center operates to provide a quality Christian education for children ages 2 1/2 – 5. A Christ-centered focus is the distinguishing characteristic of the Learning Center program and its staff members.
The tuition and registration fees for the Learning Center program cover staff salaries and special equipment and supply costs. Walnut Hills Baptist Church provides the building as an extension of the church’s ministry to our community at no cost to the families enrolled in the program. The Learning Center is housed in the educational building of the church.
The dedicated staff of the Learning Center loving communicates our Christ-centered focus, thereby teaching through example a love for others, a love for self, and a love for God’s world.

Information
Before/After School Enrichment Programs
In order to better meet the needs of families in our community and to expand the ministry of our school, Walnut Hills Baptist Church Learning Center now offers before and after school programs. Our goal is to provide children with a safe, structured program that will allow them to further explore and develop the skills and curriculum taught in their classes and continue boosting social and self confidence.
Early Birds
The Early Birds program begins at 7:45. Parents/caregivers will bring children to the appointed classroom where the teacher will be waiting. The teacher will have various centers established for the child to visit, including, but not limited to, puzzles, blocks, sensory table, games, dramatic play, books, play dough, and others. All play will be teacher-guided and engaging. At 9:15, these children will be taken to their regular preschool classes.
Busy Bees
The Busy Bees program begins at 12:15. All Busy Bees must bring the following items to school on all Busy Bees Days: a nut-free lunch, a blanket and pillow, a change of clothes (labeled). The Learning Center will provide all snacks. At 12:15, the Busy Bees will wash hands and have lunch with their friends, followed by a bathroom break and outside time (weather-permitting). Busy Bees will also participate in teacher-guided center activities, story time, games, free play, and a rest period. If the Later Gators program is in session, the Busy Bees will automatically be able to join those classes until 2:00. Pick-up for Busy Bees is promptly at 4:30. Anyone picking up after 4:45 will be billed $1 per minute he/she is late.
