You have probably noticed William and Mary students sitting in those familiar front rows. They are here for summer research or live closely enough that they can pop in from time to time. It is especially heartwarming to see the “alums” come back to support younger students and to revisit the place where they lived out their faith during college studies with the help of their Sunday School teachers, Pat and Allan Wright, leaders like Dave and Terri Bolt, their adopted parents, the Student Ministries Committee, and their Walnut Hills Family, and last, but certainly not least, our Adult Bible Study classes and their Sunday morning breakfasts.
At the end of August, fall undergraduate classes start at William and Mary, and we will once again have the joy of welcoming new students into our midst. Their energy will boost our own as we welcome a new autumn with its cooler temperatures and renewed enthusiasm.
Look for news of our College Ministry in the “Crier”, bulletin, and on the Ministry Wall, which has current William and Mary schedules, foot ball schedules, forms for helping our homegrown students and our adopted students, church brochures for college ministry, and soon….a picture of our students.
If you know of a student that we may have missed who attends Walnut Hills and goes to William and Mary or another neighboring college (undergraduate or graduate), let the church office or one of us know.
Thank you for your continuing support of our “kids.”
Barbara Powers, Student Ministries Committee Chair
