Anniversary Celebration

Don’t miss the combined 10th anniversary celebration for Graham Cheek and John Thompson that will be held on Sunday, April 6th. Both will be recognized during the morning worship service, and honored with a reception in the Fellowship Hall following the service. Come! Join in the celebration, and be prepared to let both of these fine Christian gentlemen know just how much you appreciate their years of service to the fellowship we know as Walnut Hills Baptist Church.

Church History Updated

About 45 years ago on April 28, 1963, eighteen Baptists met in a renovated old schoolhouse on Strawberry Plains Road. That was the start of what was to become Walnut Hills Baptist Church, and those 18 were the first charter members. During the next 45 years, the church was led by shepherds whose names were Stevens, Burkholder, Haywood, and Neal. Modern facilities on Jamestown Road consisting of an initial sanctuary (later it became the Fellowship Hall), an Education Building, a larger sanctuary, and associated classrooms and offices were built. The church conducted ministries and programs to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in Williamsburg, the surrounding area, and the world at large. Their history has been researched and recorded. It will be available on April 27th.
