Dear Church Family,

Throughout history, God has given His people a vision. Since the beginning, the stories of Scripture have been shaped by vision. I believe that God has given our church a vision that inspires us to make a positive impact on others in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is why we are undertaking such major renovations to our facilities and dreaming new ministries for our church. We recognize the importance of our calling and that we are co-laborers with Christ in the kingdom’s work. God has blessed Walnut Hills in tremendous ways, and we must be faithful in all we do. Remember our Lord’s words in Luke 12, "to whom much has been given, much will be required."

With vision comes opportunity. I believe our door of opportunity is our capital stewardship program: The Journey: Reaching Beyond Ourselves. Through this we can respond to our calling to be intentional in reaching out to our community and world. A portion of our journey is the opportunity we have to provide and empower the ministry of our church for generations to come.

Please take the time to study this brochure and the additional materials enclosed. As you do, pray for God to give you clarity about His will for you and your family and how you can invest yourself in something eternal here at Walnut Hills. We ask that you pray a simple prayer: "God, what is Your will for me as it relates to Your will for our church?" Then, by faith, follow His leadership.

I believe that the doors God is opening for us are exciting and fruitful. May God bless us in these important and holy days.

In His Love,

Tony

The Journey begins...

Our journey as a community of believers began on July 10, 1963, when we organized a mission on Strawberry Plains Road. On September 23, 1964, Walnut Hills Baptist Church was constituted as a church with 98 charter members. In October of 1969 we held our first worship service at our Jamestown Road location. Since then this spirit led and enthusiastic congregation has grown through several building additions and upgrades, all the while focusing on its outward mission of being Christ in the world.

The WHBC Journey: Reaching Beyond Ourselves will finance much needed renovations to our current facility and make possible dreaming a vision far beyond our current bricks and mortar.

Our Campaign Goal is to raise 2 – 3 times annual budget over three years:

Annual Budget$650,000
Capital Goal$1.3 to $2 million

Project Focus: Repairs, renovations and improvements to maintain and improve worship and ministry opportunities.

Why continue this Journey?

What Can I Do?

As a church, we are going to do collectively what we cannot and should not do alone. Will you and your family join us in a prayerful, faithful, and sacrificial commitment to our journey?
