Because Christ conquered death, we have hope; we have life as a family….eternal brothers and sisters adopted into the Kingdom through Grace. Jesus the Christ, has placed a call on us to be an Acts 1:8 church…to go out to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the Uttermost parts of the Earth to proclaim that we serve a risen Savior who is in the world today!

There are so many to be reached with a loving touch and the Good News of redemption. It may seem a daunting job, but let me share with you – briefly and not completely – just where you have been serving in the last 18 months.

In our Jerusalem:

FISH, Avalon, Grove Christian Outreach, CareNet Resource Pregnancy Center, Williamsburg Faith in Action, Crises Pregnancy Center, Norge Needs Center, Safehaven, Lackey Free Clinic, Eastover, Friendship House, Seafarers, , Young Life, Jail and Prison Ministry, Health Watch, Salvation Army, Gideons, Peninsula Rescue Mission, food drives such as Souper Bowl Sunday, WHBC Firewood Ministry, WMU Focus Week Book Collection, school supplies for JCC Child Protective Services, Bible studies open to the public, BCM meals at W&M, PBA Week of Prayer gifts, Ramp building for the disabled, and City Reachers.

In our Judea:

The State Mission Offering (which you exceeded by 300%) helps to fund BCM work at W&M, seminaries, Baptist colleges, orphanages, homes for the disabled, missionary salaries, Eagle Eyrie and Camp Piankatank summer camps, summer mission programs for students, disaster relief, Lucha Ministries in Fredericksburg, migrant and rural ethnic ministries, Impact Virginia!, Chaplain services, Courageous Vision Grants, Arabic speaking people ministries of Virginia, the Mary & Elizabeth project for teen pregnancies, Parish Nurse & Faith Community Nurse project, The Dorcas project which feeds and clothes the poor of Virginia, Hope Builders / Christian Women’s Job Corps, plus three more pages of projects we don’t have time to name.

In our Samaria:

WHBC has provided Gulfport Hurricane construction teams and youth teams working with inner city youth in Brooklyn, New York. Through your gifts to the North American Mission (Annie Armstrong) offering you help to support 5,271 missionaries, their families and the work they do in cities and the rural areas of our country. You help to plant churches, provide student evangelism on college campuses, ministry in resort areas, training in interfaith evangelism and meet physical and spiritual needs at inner city Baptist Centers.

In the Uttermost parts of the world:

100% of your Lottie Moon Christmas offering goes to support 4,116 long term and 992 short term missionaries’ salaries. You have also given: education funds for children of Belize, booties and mittens for wounded soldiers of Iraq; school supplies for soldiers to distribute in their areas of service; you have sent a church member to help with hurricane relief in India, a team to Belize and Trinidad, helped a young lady from W&M go on summer mission work to Moldova; you are supporting a child through World Vision, making wooden cars for neglected children in Ilyinka, along with wooden and crocheted crosses for Bible Classes and ministers in small mission churches in the Ukraine; giving medical supplies, shoes, clothing and hope to a Children’s Shelter and abused women of Odessa, Ukraine and now, we are seeking to do more through international partnerships.

With all we do….the fields of our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the Uttermost Parts are still ready for harvest. WE need to walk out in the world the talk we espouse within the walls of this sanctuary. WE need to listen to God’s call to go out to our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the Uttermost parts. NOTE, the call was not for one area or the other….it was for all of them.
