Missions @ WHBC

Missional Evangelism is not a thing...it is a lifestyle inherent within the Christian walk. It is the result of choosing to accept God's call through Jesus Christ for redemption. Whether you go to the Ukraine, or Gulfport, MS, or New York City, or James City County, or out your back door to a neighbor in need, you carry the seed of the Gospel within your life. You are already doing Missional evangelism ministry.

Walnut Hills has a great heritage of mission's ministries and quiet missionaries. To each of our WHBC missionaries we say celebrate you...for listening to God's call, being obedient to His voice, and seeking to do His Kingdom's work. Thank you for the example you have set before us.

Gulfport, MS Mission Team Commissioning

Terri Bolt, Alice Erickson, Pete Fowler, Pete Parks, Ken Selfe, Linda Simpson, and Mike Whiddon have answered God's call to a mission trip to Gulfport, MS. A Commissioning Service will take place on July 15: A Call, A Challenge and A Commission. Please be in prayer for our missionaries as they travel and work with the Katrina rebuild projects, the sports camp and the music camp. They will be sharing their experiences with us during "5 Minutes For Missions" on August 19, 2007.

Ministry Coordination

The Missions Council is coordinating WHBC mission ministry calendars for the remainder of 2007 in an effort to ensure that in-gathering projects do not overlap or result in duplication of effort during the same periods of time. Another goal is to assist WHBC in providing an intentional mission ministry focus which contains the element of evangelism in everything we choose to do as a congregation.

If you are working on or planning a mission ministry project that involves WHBC congregational resources (non-budgeted) we would ask that you contact one of us for calendar coordination.

Listed below are Council members you may contact for your particular area of ministry:

Giving a cup of cold water is just a shared experience until it is given personally in the name of the Lord, with the message of love, hope, and redemption.
