Walnut Hills Missions Council Launches!

At the January 31, 2007 Business Meeting, the Ad hoc Missions Committee and the Church Council made a Motion to the church body that "a Missions Council be appointed on a trial basis of one year for the purpose of coordinating and implementing church wide mission activities, as proposed in the Ad hoc Committee report of December 17, 2006.  The establishment of a Missions Council as an ongoing church organization will be considered at the end of the trial period."

Commission

Working with church leaders, mission organizations, and ministerial staff, the Missions Council shall take the lead in:

·       Identifying physical and spiritual needs in our community, nation, and the world, seeking ways that individuals, groups, and the entire church may respond

·       Considering and approving projects with anticipated involvement by church members at large;

·       Proposing budgeting and implementation plans for all projects approved by the Church Council;

·       Planning appropriate ways to celebrate member's involvement in missions

The MC's immediate goals are to:

1.       Assist members and visitors of WHBC in finding opportunities open to them for Kingdom service, and

2.       Recognize our WHBC "missionaries" already at work.

Perhaps God is leading you to "champion" one of the initial areas on the Missions Council in 2007. We continue to look for those who have a heart and passion for mission ministries.

William & Mary Student Liaison - Helping to provide transparency to the congregation concerning the mission work in which W&M students are participating throughout the college year.
